Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer 4-hour sessions that can be purchased individually or in 5-session packages for a discounted rate.

All sessions include 4 hours of hands-on decluttering and organizing.

I use my signature “Space for Life Blueprint” to help you walk through the steps of making your space work for your life.

  • My clients fall into three main categories:

Busy moms/families: looking to simplify their space and add some ease into their home and systems.

Seniors: looking to downsize into a new living situation and keep what’s most meaningful

Pre-move: looking to simplify and declutter before home showings and moving to a new home

  • This will depend on the size and scope of your project, the urgency of completing your project, and the ability to coordinate our calendars.

For projects that will take multiple sessions, we can schedule sessions back-to-back or spaced out over a number of weeks.

To get a rough time estimate a specific cluttered area will take to declutter, this blog post or (the same information in) this video are helpful.

  • I am available for one session a day Tuesday through Thursday and one to two Saturdays per month.

    Weekday sessions are from 10am-2pm.

Saturday sessions can be more flexible. We can make a plan to find a timeframe that works for both of us.

  • Your physical and mental presence as well as clear communication are the most important things you bring to a session.

At your consultation, we will talk about the vision or intention you have for your space. Clear communication is so helpful at this stage and will help us get the best result!

During decluttering sessions, we will work side-by-side to go through your space and remove the things you don't need. Your presence (both physically and mentally) are invaluable at these sessions.

You will also be responsible for purchasing organizing products such as bins and baskets (if needed) and having them in your home before the session date. (I will send you links of items to purchase.)

  • Please know that I will not judge you for your clutter or mess. We've all been there and my job is to help you work through it and minimize it.

What you see as a mess, I see as a puzzle. I find great satisfaction in putting the pieces back together.

  • I think it is important to declutter before organizing.

Many clients already have a sufficient number of products in their homes that can easily be used or repurposed without buying anything new.

I recommend doing one or more decluttering sessions to assess your needs before buying new bins, baskets, or other organizing products.

If requested, I will help you assess your needs and find products that fit your space, style, and budget.

Note: If you purchase organizing items before a decluttering session, I recommend keeping receipts so you can return them if they aren’t used.

  • At the consultation, we will discuss your goals and intentions and choose a starting point for your project.

On the day of our first session, I will come into your home ready to dig in!

We will work together to sort the items in your space into three categories - “keep,” “release,” and “belongs elsewhere.”

Items you are ready to release will be moved into bags for donation or into bins for recycling/trash.

The keep pile will be further sorted and culled.

The empty space will receive a light cleaning.

All of your favorite, most loved, and most used items will be returned to their space for you to love, appreciate, and use!

As we work together, we will discuss systems and customize organization to make your space work best for you.

As the session comes to a close, I will take photos of the “after” results and collect payment. We can book your next session if desired.

    All sessions are 4 hours.

  • Common results include:

Easier home maintenance, more time, feeling more calm and peace in your space, less anxiety, increased mindfulness when purchasing new items, less waste, more energy, feeling lighter, fewer daily micro-decisions, improved focus.

Of course, outcomes will vary from space to space and will depend on a lot of factors including your decision-making speed and willingness to let go of unused items.

  • Keeping appointments is essential to the timely completion of your project, to my ability to best meet the needs of all of my clients, and the smooth operation of my business.

I am happy to reschedule an appointment at no charge if at least 48 hours’ notice is given via phone call or text.

The cancellation policy is outlined further in the client agreement, which we will review at your consultation.

  • I would love to help you - even on a tight budget!

One way to minimize the cost is to schedule a single decluttering session and then work on your own after the session.

You can glean some of the skills and techniques that I use through our session together and then continue working on your own.

Another option is to schedule two or three sessions, but space them out over a number of weeks or months to make budgeting easier.

Do you have a BIG project and want a little more help? I offer a "Thrifty Thursday" plan at a discounted rate that might be just the thing for you! See details on my services page.
